Press reviews

Both with great lyrical temperaments, Emmanuelle Bertrand's bow and Pascal Amoyel's keyboard make music together, each breathing in the other's breath, putting his voice into his song, a single body, a single soul. Their passionate, wholehearted playing, whether in restraint or in fervor, and their sense of narration give these magnificent pages a delightful flavor of sound and a sensual energy coiled in the depths of emotion”.

Le Monde - Marie-Aude Roux

Since their meeting in 1999, the two performers have been committed to bringing together great names in music and forgotten composers (...) Storytellers... that's what defines Pascal Amoyel and Emmanuelle Bertrand, whether as a duo or separately. An art of declamation, in short, but also of living together and the cult of harmony.

Le Figaro -Thierry Hillériteau

This encounter can give rise to what is commonly called a moment of grace. In the case of Emmanuelle Bertrand and Pascal Amoyel, this takes on the appearance of abandonment, drawing the listener outside his own four walls (...) This is the hallmark of the greatest interpretations...”.

Arte - Mathias Heizmann

The way Emmanuelle Bertrand and Pascal Amoyel play together is pure passion.”

Rheingau Music Festival - July 2010

I have rarely heard such a well-functioning and coordinated duo in this opus.

Cello and piano

Celebrated by the press for their exceptionally sensitive playing and fusional complicity, the duo formed by Emmanuelle Bertrand and Pascal Amoyel is celebrating its 20th anniversary. Lovers of the great repertoire, they are tireless in their efforts to bring forgotten masterpieces back to light. Their fifteen recordings (harmonia mundi) have won them the highest honors: Cannes Classical Awards, Gramophone, ffff de Télérama, Diapasons d'Or de l'année, Chocs de Classica, Grand Prix de la critique allemande...

Often described as “passers-by”, they also conceive musical shows such as “Le Block 15, la musique en résistance”, directed by Jean Piat and adapted for France 3, which recounts the testimonies of two musicians saved by music during the Second World War, or “Une petite histoire de la grande musique” aimed at younger audiences.

Both have been awarded the Chevalier de l'Ordre des Arts et des Lettres.
