Trio Nebelmeer

Inspired by the great Romantic works written for their ensemble, Arthur Decaris, Florian Pons and Loann Fourmental chose their trio’s name in reference to Caspar David Friedrich and his iconic “Wanderer Above the Sea of Fog” (“Der Wanderer über dem Nebelmeer”).

Quickly recognised for its warm and expressive sound, the Nebelmeer Trio has been invited to perform at prestigious festivals such as the La Roque d’Anthéron International Piano Festival, La Folle Journée in Nantes, La Folle Journée in Warsaw, the Abbaye de l’Epau Festival, the Ravel Festival in the Basque Country, and the Cordes et Pics Festival...

Their first album, released in spring 2023 on the Mirare label with the support of the Théâtre and Conservatoire de Caen, dedicated to Chausson and Saint-Saëns, received a warm reception from French and German critics.

Following their debut in 2024 on the main stage of Bozar (Brussels) as part of the ‘Bozar Next Generation’ programme, the Trio won First Prize at the ‘Premio Trio Di Trieste’ International Competition in September 2024: this victory paved the way for an extensive Italian tour in 2025 and 2026 (Concerti al Quirinale in Rome, Unione Musicale in Turin, Teatro Comunale in Ferrara, Accademia Musicale Chigiana in Siena, Concerti di Senigallia, Società Filarmonica in Trento...). During the same period, the Trio made its debut at the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, the Salle de Musique in La-Chaux-de-Fonds and the Sommets Musicaux in Gstaad.

Trained by the Trio Wanderer, Claire Désert and Louis Rodde, the Trio Nebelmeer has also benefited, during its studies and at masterclasses, from tuition by the Ébène and Modigliani Quartets, as well as Johannes Meissl, Olivier Charlier, Emmanuel Strosser and Lise Berthaud…

Since September 2022, the Nebelmeer Trio has been artist-in-residence at the Queen Elisabeth Music Chapel (Belgium) under the direction of Corina Belcea, Miguel da Silva and Jean-Claude Vanden-Eynden.

It is also a laureate of the Banque Populaire Foundation and artist-in-residence at the Singer-Polignac Foundation.

Arthur Decaris plays a 1735 Seraphin violin, on loan from Mr Zilber through the Talents & Violon’celles endowment fund. Florian Pons plays an 18th-century cello attributed to Ambroise de Comble, a pupil of Stradivarius.
